I've been eating at the Steer for the past 4 years and it wouldn't change it for any other diner, not even in Chicago. The service is constantly good, with the occasional hiccup here or there (typical of any restaurant). Whatever I get to eat, I can ask to have it made my way and the waitresses/cooks happily oblige. I love pork chops with eggs and this place serves THE BEST broiled pork chop around! It's a thick cut and always juicy and scrumptious, and cooked perfectly. Honestly, this is a great diner, with a chilled diner atmosphere, the menu is huge and I've never been disappointed with what I order. I must also mention that the burgers here are very good. I usually get mine with a fried egg. Overall, a good place to have breakfast, lunch, or dinner but especially great for after a night out. With its extensive menu, it will satisfy most cravings, and you can hang here for hours and not be bothered by anyone, so it is a great place to chat with friends or study for a test. P.S. The only thing about the place to watch out for is the coffee, which isn't good, at best it's tolerable, but again, I spend a lot of time here, and great coffee would only make me stay even longer!

Food is always consistently fresh, hot, good. Hostesses are always kind and pleasant. Great American classic dishes, Home town favs. Love this place! Prices reasonable large portions. Bonus: they make ranch dressing in house..best in Indy.

Great food and wonderful service. Very friendly and comfortable environment to grab a bite with friends. Good coffee and large breakfast menu with plenty of options to pick from. Good pancakes by the way. They also have omlets , skillets, biscuits n' gravy and ham as a meat option. Daily breakfast specials and other meal specials. I would easily stop by again.

We had a beautiful time here. The decor is beautiful and the service is excellent, as is the food. Our server, Rhonda, was exceptionally kind and efficient. I had the chorizo skillet and my partner had an omlet. We would highly recommend this restaurant!
